Quiet offseason for Wannstedt

Good things do come to those who wait. In Dave Wannstedt’s first three seasons at Pitt he compiled a 16-19 record. Since then he has gone 19-7 and that is why this offseason will be the most easy going since he arrived in Pittsburgh. The gradual success of the Panthers has made for an easier transition to the 2010 season. No major coaching changes or player transfers to report at his 2009 wrap-up/2010 preview press conference on Wednesday. He spoke instead of filling up spots due to players going pro or graduates.

Some major parts were:

  • Redshirt Junior Running Back Shariff Harris will transfer to a Divison I-AA school so he can play right away, Wanndtedt is working with him to find the right school.
  • The coaching staff will remain the same with the exception of receivers coach Bryan Bossard who will pursue personal opportunities
  • Pitt had 14 prospects visit for the Louisville game on Saturday 13 of them were already commited to play
