Panthers face scrappy Pirates in South Orange

The #9 Pittsburgh Panthers(15-3)(5-1) will travel to South Orange, NJ on Sunday to take on the Seton Hall Pirates(11-6)(2-4) in a Big East game. This is a big game because the Panthers need to bounce back from their tough loss to Georgetown. The Pirates are coming off a big win vs. Louisville where they were able to seal a win with a bad call by the referee. They sit at 11-6 and are not a bad team by any standards. Pitt needs to win this game to prove that they are still for real in the Big East race. After losing to Georgetown I was a little nervous about Pitt’s defense play. This game will have to be a game where their defense is solid. It’s a new day, no fouls yet and fresh legs, let’s hope they’re ready.

Junior Gilbert Brown plays big as Pitt's 6th man

The Panthers entered the Georgetown game giving up only 59.1 points per game. That will change after giving up 74 to the Hoyas. Against the Pirates Pitt will need to limit them from driving in the lane and force them to take bad shots. If they can do this they will come out on top and get back on track. This will make Jamie Dixon happy and Pitt Nation happy as well. This looks to be a promising game and Pitt can win if they play D, play hard, and score at least 60 points on the Pirates.
